Danish Design at its best The vision of the Tytex designers 10 years ago when Cantaloop was first introduced in Denmark was that it should feel good, but never be noticed. Since then Cantaloop has become a favourite brand of mothers-to-be and new mothers in Denmark. The product line is characterised by the unbelievably soft and light material, and the seamless design. So where does the name Cantaloop come from? The designer was sitting one day looking at a musk melon, a Cantaloupe, and felt inspired by its beautiful, circular shape that was reminiscent of the body of a mother-to-be. The designer’s thoughts strayed to the nine months of sweet and loving thoughts for the fragile new life that grows within the mother’s body. Thus was born the inspiration to create a universe of unique lingerie for the expectant, yet anxious mother – lingerie that would caress her skin and tend to her fruitful, life-giving body, before and after the birth. And from there came the idea for the name Cantaloop for a universe of love and affection expressed by the two “o”s reflecting the roundness and fullness of the body of a mother-to-be. Cantaloop was created with consideration for the mother and her well-being, helping her to feel good and pass on the pleasant sensation to her child.
